The 2004 event is the second Fuseki
The first event was restricted to 1 kyu or 2 kyu players. This event is open to everyone and the draw will attempt to pit players of roughly equal entry grade against each other. However there will almost certainly be some games with a significant strength difference between the players. Despite this the games will be played as even.
All games will be played the "right way up" by the black player. The games will be 35 minutes each, sudden death.
It is expected that players will "learn" about the fuseki position as the day progresses and that the last game will be more wisely played than the first game. To that end it is requested that many of the games be recorded and the game records passed to the organiser - who will return them by post by the end of October - for analysis and potentially to produce a small booklet of the comments. This was done for the 2000 event and a copy of the booklet will be on display at other tournaments between now and the event.
There will be small prizes - this is intended to be a fun and interesting day rather than a trophy collecting day - for those on 3 or 4 wins.
The 2004 event will be held on Sunday October 17th at Burpham Village Hall in Guildford.
