Dia 1 - A simple one to start the new year.

White to live.

Dias 2, 3 & 4 - Obvious moves fail.

In Dia 2, 1 isn't big enough. White is left with just a three-in-a- row eye and is killed by 6.

Dia 3 tries to be bigger, but is reduced to the same situation.

Dia 4 tries a non-symmetrical approach. 6 is atari!

Dia 5 - The answer.

This unlikely move works, resulting in a seki.
