Dia 1 Black to kill.

This was found on a "kyu problem" blackboard at Prague EGC 2005.

This turns out to be more involved than I expected. There are assorted significant manoeuvres that are easy to miss, and various proverbs to contemplate: "There is death in the hane", "Strange things happen at the one two points" and the lower right potential cut (see Dia 2).

Dia 2 Starting inside is wrong.

Note the tesuji sequence 0f 2-6 in the lower right which cuts the black stone off and forms an eye.

This sequence shows White getting two eyes.

Dias 3 & 4 The hane leads to a ko.

1 to 9 in Dia 3 lead to a ko as shown in Dia 4 whicj Black has to win twice to fill the 1-5 and 1-2 points before he has killed White.

I have been unable to find a better sequence than this (or a similar) ko.
